Georgian Lobia with Beef

This is my version of Georgian lobia. This is a great side dish, full of flavor

1 medium size steak

1 can kidney beans

1 cup of ground walnuts

1/2 bunch of cilantro

2 cups of water

1 small onion

3 garlic cloves

1 tea spoon cumin

1 tea spoon coriander

1 vegetable bullion cube

1 tea spoon chili paste ( or Georgian adjika)



2 bay leafs


  1. Sauté beef, add onions, garlic, salt and pepper
  2. Add water , bullion cube , all the seasoning including bay leaf. Cover to simmer for 30 min
  3. Add beans , ground walnuts, chopped cilantro and more seasoning if needed
  4. Cook for additional 30 min at low heat and constantly stir.
  5. Serve with fresh cilantro as a garnish
