Khachapuri Boats

4 servings

This is a supper easy way to make khachapuri for breakfast. I have a store bought dough in my fridge for the occasion that I do not have a lot of time to make my dough from scratch. The dough I used was very good, and I will post a picture of it. It’s sold next to pillsbury brand dough. Using a pillsbury dough will work just fine.

Wewalka pizza dough

1/2 cup of feta

1 cup Mexican cheese blend

1/2 cup cottage cheese

Garlic bread powder ( optional)

4 eggs ( optional )

2 eggs for filling and egg wash

Instructions: pre heat oven to 425 degrees

Mix together feta, cottage cheese , Mexican cheese blend , and 1 egg. Season with pepper.

Cut the pizza dough in four squares

Divide the cheese mixture for each of the squares evenly . Pinch the dough together on each side to close it completely. With a knife make and incision in the center. Using a spoon press the cheese down in the middle to make it more packed so the cheese won’t over flow while baking, also shape it into a boat .

Create an egg wash, beat one egg with a tea spoon of water. Egg wash each khachapuri boat and sprinkle with garlic bread powder on the edges: Bake at 425 for 15 min-20 min till it’s a golden color. If you are adding an egg , remove from the oven after 15 min crack an egg into each center of hachapuri and bake at 450 for additional 5 min. Serve with butter.
