Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole Milk warm
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsps Active Dry Yeast
  • 5 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 stick Butter Softened
  • None- Flavored Oil For frying

Glaze

  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 4 cups Powder Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Combine luke warm 1 1/2 cups Whole Milk with 1/4 cup Water, 2 tsp Sugar and 2 1/4 tsps Active Dry Yeast . Mix well and set aside for 15 min for yeast to activate and bubble up.
  • In a stand alone mixer add 5 Cups All Purpose Flour, in a separate bowl lightly whisk and add 2 piece Eggs . Also add 1/2 cup Sugar and 1 tsp Salt.
  • Set your mixer to low speed and slowly pour your yeast mixture.
  • While everything is getting mixed in the mixer, cut 1 stick Butter (softened) into small cubes and add one cube at a time while dough is getting mixed.
  • Knead the dough in a mixer with dough hook for 10 min. The mixer bowl should look clean with no dough sticking to the sides of the bowl.
  • Lightly oil a large bowl and transfer your dough into a bowl coated each side of the dough in oil. This will make it easier for the dough to rise and prevent it from drying out. Cover your bowl with plastic wrap or a thin cotton kitchen towel. Set in a warm area to rise.
  • Dough should rise for one hour or until doubled in size, this will all depend on the temperature of your home.
  • Roll the dough out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out circles and a hole in the center.
Transfer your cutout donuts onto parchment paper, cover with towel and let them rise for additional 20-30 min until almost doubled in size.
  • In the mean time you can heat your None- Flavored Oil for frying. This would be great if you have a cooking thermometer to heat it to 375-380 degrees. If your oil is too hot id will burn the outside of the donut before cooking the inside and if your oil isn't hot enough, the donut will absorb too much oil while frying. Its always great to test the oil with one donut if you don't have a thermometer. If its browning too fast, just turn your temperature down and wait few min for it to cool down before cooking the rest.
  • Transfer all the fried donuts onto a cooling rack for any access oil to drip off.
  • Heat 1 stick Butter with1/2 cup Milk. Pour over 4 cups Powder Sugar and 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract. Mix well together till all the powder sugar is dissolved and silky.
  • Dip each donut into the glaze while warm and place onto a cooling rack for any access of glaze to drip off. Give the donut to cool completely before storing them together.
  • Hope you enjoy!
